Hello!

My name is Adam and I'm a old-time Lindy Hopper from San Francisco.  I've been dancing for over 13 years.

I'll be traveling to Italy, Greece, and Istanbul between April 19 - May 19.
I'm looking for information about dancing Lindy-Hop, Blues, or West Coast swing in any of these places.

Of course, I'm also interested in any insight I can get about places to go, things to see, food the eat, etc..... and if you find yourself totally unoccupied while I'm in your city, I'd love to have someone show me the real Athens.. and not just the tourist side.

Thank you!
-Adam

Hi Adam,

you're lucky -we have many things planned for the period you mentioned, a big party on the 3rd week of April, and of course the biggest Swing Festival on the 01st of May, with 7 Swing bands LIVE, us performing on stage and many more!

We'll be happy to show you around and introduce you to some yummy Greek food  Wink

I will send you an email with dates, events etc tonight.

Best,

Kitty.

I am also an American (from Seattle) planning to visit Greece.  My plan is to pass through Athens to the Islands and back at some point in September, possibly as late as October.  If I can time things to attend a dance, that would be super.  I need to start finalizing my flights pretty soon.

I'd also be interested in housing tips.  I may be on my own, but probably will be traveling with one other person - also a dancer.

Efharisto,
-Gavin

PS - Is the Adam who started the thread the one I've hosted in Seattle?  Hmm....

Although Kitty Von Paw and Ben will give you more info, there's a lot of swing dancing here in Athens all week long...every week!
You're welcome to join us!

I am beginning to finalize my plans.  If anyone can give me the lowdown on the weekly schedule, I'd be much obliged.

Thanks,
-Gavin

Gavin,

we're now planning our whole schedule for the next year - that included lessons, workshops, parties, shows and balls.

It seems that the swing scence over here will be buzzing with various activities ( Wink), so it might be easier if we discuss this via email.

Will contact you as soon as we finalise things.

However, the only thing I can tell you at the moment is that October will be a very busy swing month  Smiley
