About Us

Ben and Joss have been swing dancing for the last eight years, and teaching Lindy Hop for 2 years.

They both had the privilege to be initially taught by the ‘Swing Doctors’, two talented and experienced teachers based in Edinburgh, Scotland, and among the very few dancers which focus on the preservation and spread of Swing dancing in its original form: the so-called ‘New York Savoy Lindy Hop’.

In 2003, Ben and Joss joined the ‘Edinburgh Swing Dance Society’ (ESDS), the largest Swing Dance Society in Scotland. As members of the ESDS they have been given the chance to be taught by some of the greatest names in Swing dancing worldwide, in several International Festivals and Lindy Hop Workshops.

Ben and Joss share a passion about Swing music and dancing. Their aim is to share their knowledge of the Swing era, music and dance, with as many people as possible. They are versatile dancers and their primary focus is on partner connection. They love teaching and enjoy social dancing to both fast, energetic 1940s Big Band music and slower, jazzy songs. They have also written and participated in a number of choreographed routines performed in both the UK and Greece.

Previous to Swing dancing, Joss received training as a classical Ballet dancer for seven years and then moved to Dancing on Ice for another five years. Ben, while living in New York as a teenager, was heavily involved in the 'Break Dancing' scene for several years while also studying Tiger Claws Kung-Fu.
